LEAP YEAR NIGHT!

The 2008 Midland Songwriter Showcase will be the second Leap Year night show (that's right - it all started leap year night 2004!).
This year promises to be the best yet. Songwriter.ie is thrilled to be presenting Mullingar legend Pete Courtney, Stephen and Patrick Heffernan - two young Athlone lads who write their own blistering, original Irish traditional tunes, Geoff Quinlan, Athlone's answer to Preston Reed, Critic Eyes, a girl-fronted local rock band who have been making headlines lately and Sean Allen, a powerful performer who will taking a break from the Guns n Roses covers to sing a few from his own impressive catalogue.

The focus of what we do is promoting and encouraging the artists who are creating new music and are looking for the opportunity to perform their music live. To this end we organise an annual showcase of talent which we record and release as a live CD.
