Barry Walls

Barry Walls was raised in a musical family and his experience shows itself in his music. Old, aching themes and stories are expressed in his finger-picking style and haunting vocal lines. Laughter and tears, memories and hopes dance together in songs that sound like they belong coming off an old favourite vinyl record.

How long playing:

How long have you been writing:
7 years
What Inspired you to write:
Just an unexplainable urge to do it. I felt that if I didn't do it I wouldn't be happy.
Thoughts on the local scene:
It's not as vibrant as it could well be. There's a lot of people playing for themselves at home without any opportunity such as the songwriters night to get out there and play original stuff. A lot of pubs just aren't open to live music or open mic scenarios, this kind of night is a great thing for the Irish music scene.
Long-term plans:
I'm not dwelling on it too much... I won't be too upset if nothing pans out, I just want to enjoy it the best I can.
